I've heard one song off it (Paper Talk) that is quite excellent."

What did they call themselves? What was the name of this band?

Thanks, will do.
Album downloads sure are dirt cheap there, but I've already discovered a downside.
The first (and thus far only) album I've grabbed from them turned out to be vinyl, and not exactly a flawless copy either.
Apparently they don't bother to indicate whether an available album is in LP or CD format.
Good thing I got two songs for free when I registered, cause it would have been money thrown away.

Hi

Firstly can I say again what a great site this is. Thanks for all the hard work - very much appreciated.

I am trying to find the Japanese bonus track from the First Signal album (Harry Hess from Harem Scarem). I believe it is an acoustic version of "When November Falls".

Does anyone have it? If so, any chance of sharing please?

Unfortunately I have found a few downloads/torrents that said they had the bonus track - but they didn't!

Many thanks

Ok?
Glad you're feeling well again. Many kisses! :)

Would 'home' be 'over the hills and far away'?

I agree it's another tragic loss to the music world, although choking on one's own vomit as a result of alcohol abuse would fall under the header of 'self-inflicted' and unnecessary, as opposed to succumbing to a crippling illness like the recent passing of a.o. Ronnie James Dio and Phil Kennemore.
Someone up there seems to be putting a kick-ass band together (John Belushi perhaps?), lending more credence to that old adage 'They're dropping like rock musicians'.
If only 'they' wouldn't start with the legends and work their way down, but go the other way around and target the likes of Lady GaGa and Courtney Love. Now that I couldn't care less about.

troynew said...

@Aggelos:

We've had our differences, but it's good to hear you're on the mend.
Backaches blow. I suffer from them myself. They often radiate outwards and make you hurt all over.
There's times when I can't walk 50 paces without feeling like my back is killing me.
Which is probably down to years and years of having worn the wrong kind of shoes and having used chairs and couches that offer no support.
Bad habits are hard to break.

@all:

Anyone feel like sharing Haywire's 'Bad Boys'?
Believe it or not, I've never had the pleasure of hearing it.
Kinda strange since I have always loved most of 'Don't Just Stand There'.

SOFIA said...

@Troy

"Would 'home' be 'over the hills and far away'?"

That would be exactly there!

"I agree it's another tragic loss to the music world, although choking on one's own vomit as a result of alcohol abuse would fall under the header of 'self-inflicted' and unnecessary, as opposed to succumbing to a crippling illness like the recent passing of a.o. Well, for me, my friend, there are no accidents and no unexplained and out of the blue illnesses. And I'm not suggesting that one shouldn't be mad about them, cause it's human. What I strongly do suggest is that one's life choices should be respected, if not forgiven no matter what they are, cause if anything else these choices make him who he/she is.

SOFIA said...

Nevertheless, thanks for the offer to demonstrate 'Disclosure' was more than an outrageously unrealistic slice of Hollywood fiction.
I may have been the guy who inspired the character of Milton 'Can I Have My Stapler Back, Please?' Ah, even hobbled w/your recent convalescence, I see you beat me to the one request, "Tambora- Vale Of Tears (BTW, they're from my home state of Colorado)," that I could have actually filled in seemingly forever around here...In all seriousness, it's a good thing you did, however, b/c I'm just now finding time to check out the new R&F corner.

Also pleased to read you're regaining strength and mobility. Now that the butcher...er, surgeon...has concluded his/her work, resulting in neither death nor permanent impairment, hopefully you have competent primary care physicians and physical therapists to further guide your recovery...Not that I dislike surgeons (too much), it's just that I tire of nearly always standing outside in the hallway when I request surgical consults on account of not being able to squeeze into the patient's room once the surgeon arrives w/oversized ego in tow. But, if he/she fixes the problem, as in your case, such is (usually) forgiven :)

@Swazi:

Wow, the Hero ep is a fantastic share. Very rare! I've been looking for the USA band w/same name who released an indie CD titled "Liv'n Lov'n and Die'n (1989)" since time indeterminate...Saw it once on e-bay, wasn't willing to pay the big bucks. Now, I might...If you have that one in your magic hat, I'll take it too my friend. If not, "Vielen dank" for the British EP ;)

Oddly, that 4 track Hero EP does little to make me 'thicken and engorge with mounting excitement', as Stephen Fry would put it. :oS
I wouldn't say they are 'enormously limp-making in a sexual sense' (still quoting Stephen Fry), but with all due respect to Swazi and Faust, I do find them rather ordinary.

Hey guys...this hard times/nights that I 'm lying in bed music keeps me good company and trully gives me strength to carry on!Yesterday I was awake 'til 4 A.M. and was listeng music and I 'stuccked' with: David Drew - Safety Love.
The album is a a AOR gem with melodic guitars and that 80's feeling.Not sure if all of you have heard it so I decided to share it here...
The album reminds me some of Steve Jones (without the dirty guitars)
and a bit of Billy Idol moments and a little of Giuffria's Silk and Steel touches!!!
Sorry for the long talk.
So here it is:

As stated; "Anonymous" posts will be ignored.
I've a list of queued uploads to share on the main blog, and casually recently one of them matched here.
Was in the mood to post that kind of stuff.
Note there's not a 'Requested in "Request & Fill Corner" section' headline...

Guess what... seems I've lost 'Morgan Cryar The Best Of' on the computer burn.

Looks like you folks are fashionably late discovering the merits of short-lived prog sensation Marathon.
Maybe our resident camel jockey can upload their other album for you, which I posted on EOTW a few years ago. (Got both CDs, but 'Norm' is stashed in a box somewhere and I've tried in vain to dig it up.)
'The Final Cut' I gotta admit is a superior effort, but 'Norm' is still worth a casual listen.

@Aggelos:

Are you planning on posting the entire contents of www.metalcaravans.blogspot.com in this section?
Seems like an exercise in futility to me if download links there are still operational.

SOFIA said...

@Troy
I should have known you had Marathon. It was nice to also know that more dutch guys, other than yourself, appreciate the greek spirit! ;)

SOFIA said...

Btw, when you said "The Final Cut" did you by any chance meant "The First Run"?

SOFIA said...

@Camelblue
I have a problem with Heartland's second CD. Both of my download attempts had an unexpected end of archive. Could you upload it to another service than Filesonic?

troynew said...

Yes, I meant 'The First Run'.
I was trying to multitask on autopilot there for a moment. Not my forte.
Must have been associating 'marathon' with 'to cut and run' on a subconscious level.
Which according to most psychologists probably constitutes a Freudian slip of the tongue indicating I'm trying to compensate for having a small weiner. ;o)

SOFIA said...

Hahahaha! I don't believe that, not for a minute! Besides all wise women know that size don't count but how you use it... lol

troynew said...

Little do you know. I need GPS to locate it and a manual to use it. Let's face it: If Richard Richard of 'Bottom' fame wrote the book on sexual inadequacy, I'm the guy who needs to comb through it in the hope of picking up a few pointers. :oS

troynew said...

I'm not having any trouble unpacking Heartland part 2 with WinRar.
